EnaChat

The virtual assistant for town councils that cites the source of every answer

It answers citizens at any hour from your council's official documents. When it can't find the answer, it says so and passes the question to the citizen service office.

A town council website with the assistant open. Someone asks when the recycling centre is open, and the answer shows its source, «Deixalleria municipal», with a date.

How it works, in 21 seconds

A question the sources can answer, one they can't, and the list of what people ask that the website doesn't answer yet.

What EnaChat does for your council

The console's "Knowledge Sources" list: the e-office, the town website, the tax bylaws as PDF, the agenda and the news, all active and most refreshed daily.

Sources

It learns from what you already publish

We connect the official sources you choose and read them again every night, so answers don't go stale.

  • Town website, seu-e.cat, bylaws as PDF, news (RSS), agenda (ICS calendar), CSV or XLSX sheets and posters
  • Canonical answers for the questions you want to answer in your own words
  • Outside those sources, the assistant doesn't answer
The assistant replies that the information isn't in the official sources and that the question has gone to the citizen office. Next to it, the question appears under "Hand-offs to a person" in the console, marked "No answer".

Hand-off

When it doesn't know, it doesn't make it up

If the sources don't cover the question, the assistant says so and passes it to the citizen office, which sees it in the console and gets it by email.

  • The "Talk to a person" button, in view from the first message
  • The office's phone and hours at the foot of the chat
  • It never processes transactions or gives legal advice: it informs and hands off
The console's "Unanswered questions" screen, with three grouped questions and the "Create a Canonical Answer" button, and a card with the share of answers with cited sources and out-of-hours use.

Coverage

You know what people ask

The console groups the questions the assistant couldn't answer by topic. Add a canonical answer and from then on the assistant cites it.

  • A dashboard with the month's conversations, answers with cited sources, hand-offs and out-of-hours use
  • Top topics and the language of each conversation
  • Every conversation, to review what was answered and from which source

The questions councils ask us

What if the assistant says something that isn't true?

It only writes from the sources you point us at, and an answer without citations automatically becomes "I don't know". When an answer is wrong, it is almost always because the source is wrong or out of date: fix the source and the answer changes. You can review every conversation in the console.

What if someone wants to talk to a person?

The "Talk to a person" button is visible from the first message, and the citizen office's phone and hours sit at the foot of the chat. Questions the assistant can't answer go to the office, which sees them in the console.

AOC and the provincial council already offer free assistants. Why one of our own?

Shared assistants answer what is the same everywhere: how a generic procedure works, what a digital ID is. None of them knows your recycling centre's hours, your terrace bylaw or your festival calendar. That is exactly what EnaChat answers, and it sits alongside the free services without replacing any of them.

Our website is hosted by the provincial council or by AOC. Do we have to change it?

You only paste a <script> tag into the site template. If you don't have that access, the assistant has its own page with the town's name and colours, and you link to it from the menu.

How long does it take to go live?

Days. Indexing a small or mid-size town's sources takes minutes to a few hours; the real time goes into agreeing with you which sources are in scope and where hand-offs go.

What happens if we don't renew one year?

You remove the tag from the website and that's it: no lock-in, no penalty. We then delete the town's data.
